The story is based on the movie Fusion reborn. The characters looks very alive and accurate. Overall the gameplay is pretty solid and more in depth, definitely better than Budokai 3. Overall: Dragon ball Z shin budokai is an improved version of budokai 3. It will easily takes you 10 hours to finish it. The graphics look almost exactly like their console counterpart.
Then you have the usual survival mode, arcade mode, and time attack mode. The game features 18 characters, 14 of them already unlocked. Combos and special attack are super easy to pull off, it will take you no more than five minutes to get used to them. They used the usual cel-shaded style. You can also buy stamps to customize your profile. Its really long, and made in a very interesting way. Value: The story mode is pretty long.
We have less characters this time, but they made each one of them as unique as possible. Game Modes: The story mode Dragon Road is the main mode of the game. . But since the characters are unique, you will have fun experimenting all of them. The battles have a faster pace, thanks to the aura system and the real time ultimate attacks.
From the start, you will notice how the controls are almost identical to their console counterpart. Each character have more combos and special moves. Its neat but I would rather have the old capsule system instead. Final score- 10 Rating: 5. Visual: The game is pretty. But the gameplay more than makes up for it.
Gameplay: Dragon ball Z shin budokai improves a lot from Budokai 3. You can also play ad-hoc battles. Even if you are not a fan, you should give it a try. The backgrounds are detailed too. Sure it has less characters, and shorter story mode. The new aura burst technique allows for a much faster fighting.
Controls: I was really worried before I play the game, I didnt expect the developers to make the controls so easy and user friendly. Besides that, you have plenty of other modes to keep you playing. . . . . .
